{"id":1863,"date":"2023-10-11T20:13:25","date_gmt":"2023-10-12T01:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.knottscholar.org\/?p=1863"},"modified":"2023-10-31T17:36:15","modified_gmt":"2023-10-31T22:36:15","slug":"knott-scholar-service-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/knottscholar.org\/es\/knott-scholar-service-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Knott Scholar Service Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Knott Scholar Council enthusiastically welcomed more than 100 participants &#8211; including 46 scholars &#8211; to its annual\u00a0Service Day\u00a0on Saturday morning September 18, 2021.\u00a0 This year the activity was held on the campuses of St. Michael-St. Clement Catholic School and St. Michael the Archangel Church, both located adjacent to each other in northeast Baltimore City, and the 2020-2021 Knott Scholar Partner organization.<\/p>\n<p>Knott Scholar Service Day 2021 was a tremendous\u00a0beautification effort that lasted four hours and accomplished so much pride and reward.\u00a0 Many gardens were weeded and replanted with landscaping graciously donated by Green Fields Nursery, owned by Knott scholar alumni parents Jim and Kathleen McElroy.\u00a0 All the exterior steps, sidewalks, and curbs were swept and cleaned.\u00a0 Both the school&#8217;s principal Mr. Paul Kristoff and the church&#8217;s pastor, Friar Timothy Dore, OFM Conv.,\u00a0expressed their sincere gratitude for the work by our group!\u00a0 &#8220;Thank you. The families were amazing.
