O’Dwyer Event: A Day of Fellowship & Fun

Oct 12, 2023

Many hands make light work! This was especially true at our recent Service & Picnic Event in August. Who knew mulching could be so fun?!

A dedicated and enthusiastic team of current elementary, secondary and collegiate Knott Scholars, as well as Knott Scholar Alumni and their families, helped add the final touch to the newest addition of the Ropes Course to the beloved and historic Msgr. O’Dwyer Retreat House. The trails and course are now complete, and the Retreat House is pleased to announce they have welcomed many groups to this challenging outdoor space since the service event took place in August. The Retreat House is currently undergoing a series of long-awaited renovations to the property. The team at O’Dwyer reports that are excited for a refreshed space as the Retreat House has been a part of the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s history for many decades.

Impressively, our eager group helped the Retreat Center welcome their largest group on record, over 150 people! Historically, this large event was a first for Knott Scholarship Funds as well!

The Knott Scholarship Funds office is grateful for our growing community of Scholars, Families and Alumni and the partnership with the Msgr. O’Dwyer Retreat House. Martin Knott, wife Teresa and sister Rose were also in attendance. The Knott’s expressed their gratitude and mentioned they know that their parents, Henry and Marion Knott, are “grinning ear to ear watching the students and parents working together.”

Part of our mission is to continue to provide opportunities for service and stewardship as these are especially important to the legacy of Henry and Marion Knott. Thank you for your support and we look forward to our next service day.
