Our Scholarships

Thank you for your interest in applying for one of our scholarships. It was the wish of Henry and Marion Knott that academically excellent Catholic students attend Catholic schools to become leaders in their schools, communities, and the Catholic church.

Knott Scholarship Funds - Elementary Scholar

ELEMENTARY

Please review our initial criteria for application. Meeting eligibility requirements means the application may be reviewed, but it does not guarantee a scholarship. If your student does not meet these initial requirements, do not apply. We make no exceptions to our criteria. Additional details about criteria are in the following Scholarship section. It is the responsibility of the applicant family to review our materials carefully.

Z

The student is Catholic or officially converted into the Catholic church.

Z

The student and family reside in, and are registered parishioners in, the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Z

The student has applied for or is enrolled in a parish Catholic elementary school.

Z

The parish school is located in one of the following counties: Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Frederick County, Harford County, Howard County.

Z

The student is currently in 4th grade.

Z

The student has all “A” grades (93 or above) in: Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts for the last two grading periods.

Z

The student has scored in at least the 92nd percentile on the WINTER MAP test in each of the following categories: Reading, Mathematics, Language Arts.

Knott Scholarship Funds - Secondary

Secondary

Please review our initial criteria for application. Meeting eligibility requirements means the application may be reviewed, but it does not guarantee a scholarship. If your student does not meet these initial requirements, do not apply. We make no exceptions to our criteria. Additional details about criteria are in the following Scholarship section. It is the responsibility of the applicant family to review our materials carefully.

Z

The student is Catholic or officially converted into the Catholic church.

Z

The student and family reside in, and are registered parishioners in, the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Z

The student has applied for acceptance in a Catholic High School in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Z

The student is currently in 8th grade.

Z

The student has All “A” grades (93 or above) in: Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts for the last two grading periods.

Z

The student has a Minimum HSPT Composite Score in the 95th percentile or above.

Z

The student has scored in at least the 92nd percentile on the WINTER MAP test in each of the following categories: Reading, Mathematics, Language Arts.

Knott Scholarship Funds - University - hub

University

Please review our initial criteria for application. We fund the universities, and they award the scholarships based on our combined criteria.

There are two types of scholarships available:

  1.  Marion Burk Knott Scholarships
    1. Awarded for full tuition for four years.
    2. Students must take the SAT or ACT to qualify for consideration.
  2. Marion I. and Henry J. Knott Scholarships
    1. Awards range from $10,000 per year to full tuition for four years.
    2. Students do NOT need to take the SAT or the ACT to qualify for consideration.

The student is Catholic or officially converted into the Catholic church.

Z

The student must reside in, and be a registered parishioner in, the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Z

The students will need to produce a baptismal certificate and letter from their parish attesting to the above.

Z

The student will also meet specific academic criteria defined by the receiving university.
